Patient-matched tumor-normal sequencing compares the sequence of genes in both somatic and germline DNA. This approach allows for improved discrimination of somatic variants from rare, benign germline variants. Tumor-normal matching improves estimates of tumor mutational load and better predicts clinical benefit to immunotherapy with fewer false positives, which is especially important for proper somatic variant calling in ethnic minority patients.^1-3

To order the OncoExTra test, begin by requesting OncoExtra specimen kits online or contacting customer service at +866.662.6897. Existing customers can place an order online via our convenient provider portal. New customers can sign up for online ordering, then submit an order electronically.

Alternatively, orders can be placed using our paper requisition form.

On request, Exact Sciences will supply OncoExTra specimen kits for shipping.

• Most tumor samples should be shipped overnight with a frozen cold pack*
• Fresh frozen tissue should be shipped overnight on dry ice
• Matched normal blood samples must be ≤7 days old upon receipt, refrigerated until transport, then shipped overnight with a frozen cold pack*
• Samples for IHC testing should be refrigerated until transport, then shipped overnight with a frozen cold pack*

Please ensure that all primary specimen containers are labeled with 2 unique patient identifiers and the collection date.

*Freeze the cold pack included in the specimen kit for a minimum of 4 hours before shipping.

Exact Sciences strives to provide accurate and timely patient results. You can expect to receive results within 14 days of receiving sample from the time we receive both the tumor sample and matched normal sample.⁴

You can easily access patient results through the Provider Portal - the same portal used to order the test.

Out-of-pocket (OOP) costs for the test, if any, are determined by the patient's insurance company. Patients with OOP costs may contact us to discuss options⁸.
